You may have heard stories of tardy limousines that make people late for their own weddings, or leave them stranded completely. But problems with vehicle companies are few.

  1. How many vehicles will we need to transport the wedding party from various locations?
  2. What type or model and size of vehicles will be used? (You may have the option of choosing a particular vehicle or vehicles.)
  3. Is the company a member of any association?
  4. Are the vehicles fully licensed and insured? (Don't be afraid to verify this by asking to see vehicle registration and insurance documents.)
  5. What services do the fees include?
  6. Will there be additional charges?
  7. What are your tipping policies?
  8. What will the driver(s) wear on the job?
  9. How long will we have the vehicle(s) and driver(s)?
  10. What is the payment schedule? (How much is the deposit, and when is it due? When is the balance due?)
  11. What is the method of payment (cash, personal cheque, invoice, credit card)?

What the contract should specify.

  1. Day, date, and time of wedding, reception, and photo shoot (if applicable).
  2. The hours for which you have contracted the vehicle(s) / driver(s).
  3. Location of pick-up and drop-off points.
  4. The number of people to be transported in each trip.
  5. The number and types of vehicles (if you've selected a specific vehicle, i.e. one seen at a wedding fayre, the registration number should be noted).
  6. Liability for accidents and damages.
  7. The hourly rate for each vehicle.
  8. Conditions for payment of overtime.
  9. Any additional fees.
  10. Payment schedule: amount and due date of deposit; due date of balance of payment.
  11. Method of payment.
