Jodie's Diary
Woke up – 5.30am
Got in the car at 6.40 to get to my hair appointment at Salon 7 for 7.00am. We all had to start early as the ceremony was at 12.00 noon. Was really glad it wasn’t any earlier or we’d have never fitted everything in.
Hairdresser started her work on my hair straight away. I was feeling semi-relaxed in the hairdressers, but felt even more relaxed once I’d had a glass or two of champagne. Bridesmaids were all with me. Finished hair at 9.00am and got in the car with my mum and sister to go back to the house. Left the other 2 bridesmaids at the hairdressers as they hadn’t finished.
Got back to the house. Appleblossom Florists had delivered the bouquet and buttonholes. They were very nice but I felt there was something missing from mine, as the bouquet looked very creamy, when my dress was pure white.

I phoned the florist and she came back out to the house immediately with some white flowers and sparkly silver stuff to add to the bouquet. I was very pleased with the final arrangement.
Mia, our make-up artist, had made a start on one of the bridesmaids make-up, which looked stunning. I was next and I was impressed with what she had done. The other two bridesmaids were next. Relaxed for a bit in the garden with my dad and mum.

Dad took some photos of us all in the beautiful sunshine. I was so glad it wasn’t raining! Had some bucks fizz as I was starting to feel panicky. Once all the make-up was done it was time to put on our dresses. The girls looked stunning. It took a good 20 minutes to do my dress up (a job my mum kindly took on). My legs started to feel a bit wobbly from standing up for so long and of course the weight of the dress. Started worrying then as to whether I could keep standing through the whole wedding ceremony! Anyway, dress was on. My dad saw me first and I think he was impressed and proud!!!! We then all waited in the garden in the lovely sunshine for the cars to arrive.

I was amazed that we actually had time to wait and it wasn’t a mad panic as we did have an early wedding. I was feeling a bit emotional at this point and was too scared to even speak in case I welled up with tears. Anyway, it was time and the bridesmaids left in their car as my dad and I got into the white Rolls Royce, which my dad had booked as a surprise. The chauffer was very polite and ensured our drive to the church was in real comfort.
