All Inclusive Honeymoon

The allure of an all-inclusive beach honeymoon is understandable. It is one of the most convenient and economical options available. Couples will find many hotels and resorts offering an all-inclusive package, but they're not all the same. Here's what you can expect.

By far the most popular destination for couples seeking an all-inclusive honeymoon package is the Caribbean. But you need to do your homework before signing up for one of these deals. The "All" part of the all-inclusive can vary widely from one resort to another. Although there is consistency with a resort chain, i.e. Sandals, their definition of all-inclusive may vary from a Club Med resort. Basically, all-inclusive is a term used to describe vacation packages where for one pre-determined price, virtually everything on your trip is paid for excluding airfare. Typical items covered in the package include ground transportation, meals, beach activities, entertainment and drinks. Activities and meals outside the resort are not included and of course your gifts and any souvenirs are up to you to purchase. But if you stay on the resort property, you generally won't have to pay for a thing. Many resorts strive to make everything as worry-free and relaxing as possible so even tips may be included in your one price package.

So what can you expect from an all-inclusive package? Here are some items normally included.

  • Rooms
Usually the price of your package will depend on the accommodation option you select. The location of the room, size of the room and any special features such as a hot tub may affect the price.

  • Dining
You will never be without food or have to look too far to find it and practically never pay a separate fee as long as you dine at the resort.

  • Bar Service
The drinks are on them. All beverages, from soft drinks to premium-brand liquors are usually available free of charge and some bars are open all night.

  • Sports Activities
Most resorts and hotels offer both land and water sports activities for their guests. Tennis is almost universally available at these resorts as well as bicycles and fitness centers. Water sports such as windsurfing, water skiing, sea kayaking snorkeling and sailing are also available.

When booking your all inclusive honeymoon remember to double check the details of exactly what's included. Each resort determines the features included in its packages, so be sure to go over the details of the package you're interested in. Confirm everything from food and drinks to accomodation and activities before paying. Always ask for an itemized list of all that's included in your all inclusive travel package. That way you won't be surprised by an unexpected bar bill or activity fee when you check out.
