TREETOPS TOP TIPS
Wedding Day Essentials
From our experiences at wedding day morning preparations we have found that there are some essentials which absolutely must to be in your beauty kit, particularly if you aren’t getting ready at home on the morning of your wedding.
• Nail Glue, especially if you are not used to artificial nails, you just never know if you might need to make a repair. Make sure you have a Nail file too.
• Small Scissors, from dress tags to tiaras there are tags everywhere just when you don’t need them and they are just impossible to remove without ruining your manicure!
• Needle and some cotton in the colour of your dress and some clear thread which can repair just about everything else.
• Small plasters, particularly if you haven’t worn in your shoes beforehand. Ask your bridesmaid to pop these into her bag.
• Tweezers, like umbrellas, they are nearly always needed when you don’t have them.
• Your mobile phone charger, your phone can be red hot with calls from well wishers and might not last the distance without one!
Fabulous Hands & Nails
Whether you decide to opt for artificial nails for your wedding, or decide to perfect your own, you need to start getting your hands & nails into shape as early as possible. Pre wedding nerves can cause brides bite their nails or the skin to the side of their nails, and every day house work, shopping, gardening etc can result in dry chapped skin. On your wedding day your hands will be on show as never before. Make sure that you give them lots of love and attention before the day so that they can dazzle both in the flesh and in the photos!
• When washing up make sure that you ALWAYS use gloves and when you are off out into the cold wear some warm gloves to protect your hands.
• Try to remember to put handcream on last thing at night and after you have washed your hands. If your hands really do need some extra TLC try slipping on some cotton gloves too.
• Trim your nails to the same length and file them with care. If you are going to paint your natural nails for the wedding start thinking about your preferred nail shape, whether it’s more rounded or squared. If there’s enough time, try both shapes to see which suits your hands best.
• If your cuticles need a little TLC try using specialist cuticle oil. Almond oil is great for this too.
• Don’t use your nails as tools – think of ways to avoid damage to the free edge (the top edge) of the nail, for example don’t use your nail to prise up the ring pulls on cans or to pull open tricky packaging.
• If you just aren’t sure how to get your hands on the right track then book yourself a manicure and then don’t forget to keep up the good work when you get home. If you are planning to do your own nails, we will be giving you a step by step guide how to do your own French manicure next edition. It takes a little practice but looks divine! Happy Manicuring!
